date night

I spotted these cream colored paper chains cut with a scalloped edge at the Boat Street Cafe this past weekend:

I love this look - I'm going to get Abbott and Cal going on making chains like these for our (still-undecorated, cut-down-on-Saturday) tree.

Our meal was delicious.

Love the dessert pics -- especially fun to look at before breakfast! Thanks for the cyber chocolate fix ... and the itch to find some scissors and pretty paper.

I love date nights!!

The paper chains bring back fond memories of making them for our tree at times growing up. This is funny because I was actually thinking of getting some pretty paper and doing this, this year but decided to add some butterflies to the tree.

Oh my friend I'm sure your little paper (and scissor) artist will love doing this project. I can't wait to see it!!

Enoy and once again thank you for sharing!! xoxo

Luck timing and chance are good things, right up there with yummy desserts. Glad you have it with you now and wish it for you and your family long into the future!

I am so grateful that you asked me what the story was behind the old bucket... I forgot! The old bucket was on my dad's tree growing up, it was his grandfather's old bucket from Germany... When my Oma died in 1970my dad "inherited" it. :0) Thank you for asking me that question! We don't have an old bucket on our tree (looks old it's 14 years old)and we have started that tradition with our family! It's just cute! Love traditions!!! BTW love the chains :) old memories!!!

Thanks everyone for the paper chain love! I picked up some paper today and pulled my scallop edge scissors out of storage. In case you're wondering about the "missing link" that was here earlier, I decided that it fell short and wasn't what I wanted to say about marriage; not much celebrating there.
