The Sheraton Seattle is hosting the 16th annual Gingerbread Village in their lobby through Sunday, January 4, 2009. The Gingerbread Village annually draws about 100,000 visitors, and benefits the Northwest Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Seattle’s top architecture firms work with the hotel's culinary staff to design, bake and build gingerbread creations.

What great constructions, Mister T would have wondered why he couldn't eat any of the displays
Those gingerbread houses are so creative! We do one each year but ours is terribly boring in comparison...
A lot of talent is displayed with the gingerbread houses! Most of all a great way to bring awareness and raise money JDRF.
Wow! These are great photos and put our annual Wal-Mart boxed kit to shame -- although I do always add extra gumdrops and candy canes. What a super way to start the holiday season. I'll bet your boys had a blast.
These are wonderful. I've always admired gingerbread houses. I've never been able to make one that looks like much of anything.
Gingerbread houses are an example of amazing art - in large part because they are so temporary! Simply amazing talent and amazing work!
I was a fundraiser before kids, and worked at a home for abused girls. Every year we had a massive gingerbread house day - using graham crackers - and it was always the best activity of the year.
Gorgeous and what a great cause. xo
the super mario one with the squished mushroom is just too good to be true. i want it!
Wow. So inspiring! My favourite is the Dark Knight house, but that's only because I have a soft spot for old fashioned houses like that.
Do you and your boys decorate a house at home as well? Every year my husband's family has a gingerbread house contest---they are a bunch of civil engineers so you can imagine how competitive they get in the construction of the houses! Of course true to form, I always have more fun with the decorating...it combines my two favourite things: candy and home decor!
I want to move into the Dark Knight House. These are wonderful creations! Thanks for sharing the pictures.
hey! i came over from wise craft. i love this post. all the ginger bread houses are amazing!
That Community of Superheroes house is incredible!
I found you on delightful blogs and I'm glad! I love all these gingerbread houses and oh my goodness your boys are darling!
Thanks everyone for your comments! We do make our own gingerbread house, but a very humble one - haven't done it yet. KPiep - neat to hear about your fundraising efforts.
Make sure you take note of the footprints in the mushroom (close up shot of the Mario Brothers house)!
