simple pleasures

ice on my window Saturday morning

While the snow we had over the weekend resulted in canceled pageants and Messiah performances and other festivities, we did enjoy the resulting cozy, at-home weekend (with a few minor skirmishes - at one point Abbott called Alexi a "correction monster").

Isn't this snow unreal??? Snow drifts and iced over trees. It's just unheard of around here. But it sure is pretty and it's fun to be forced to slow down a bit:) MErry, Merry Christmas!!

Growing up I remember every snow storm in Seattle- that's how few they were!!! I had never ice skated outside until we moved to the Northeast where every pond and lake becomes a rink from Dec till March.
Those Seattle hills must be a b%%*h with snow and ice.
Great pics as usual.

I love that snowman on the shore! Looks like you all had some fun outside in the snow. We're bracing for some more here, too!

I enjoy hearing music so to be snowed in with your own concert is a perfect weekend. Your breakfast feels so warm and yummy right now. I'm so cold... burrrr... I woke up to the snowplow truck- more snow fell while we slept. Shhh... don't tell but I actually don't mind it.
OK don't tell Abbott, but he gave me, my first smile this morning "correction monster".

Enjoy your day!

Lovely photos, Lecia. Thanks so much for sharing such cozy family shots. Snow on the beach is just something we Alabama folks cannot wrap our minds around, but I love the possibilities!

I really hope that your family knows just how special you are - creating a wonderful world for them, from the time they awake til bed-time! You have such a gift with making life lovely!

I hope to someday become as good a photographer as you are! Thanks for sharing pictures of your cozy weekend - and I do think the 'correction monster' thing is hysterical!

By the way, I was just thinking about frost this morning with a bit of regret. It's far too dry here for frost, and I think it's beautiful!

In case I'm not on the computer tomorrow - have a very Merry Christmas! I'm sending warm wishes your way!

Thank you for your compliments! I'm particularly glad that first shot I took came out so well - the window was so beautiful and is a nice memory.
