Yesterday the morning was rosy; after so many gray days, I took the opportunity to spend a few minutes at the beach before getting on with the day's routine.
Parenting is in many ways like this rosy morning; the golden moments are fleeting and easily overlooked amidst the chaos and energy that children create in a home. This day turned into another gray day; a great reminder for me to cherish each and every little second.

Beautiful photo. How fortunate you are to be able to spend some time at the ocean!
What a lovely post! Stunning photos. xx
Great pictures! Is your home right on the water, if not you are very lucky to live by such beauty. Enjoy your day.
I think that was an apt comparison. I think it is very important to be in the now with children. I think I inadvertently rushed my children's lives. I would think, "oh, I can't wait until he sleeps through the night." or
" It will be so great when she is able to tie her own shoe." And although these weren't bad wishes, I now know that a child's childhood goes fast enough. rather than always looking ahead and looking forward to all the amazing things they can and will do- Enjoy WHAT they ARE doing.
I hope that doesn't sound too preachy. it just seems like a minute ago my older kids were my younger kids age. it goes too fast :)
Lucky you - looks like an amazing time! Wish I was there!
You are so right. It goes way too fast. Today is my twins 15th birthday and I can't believe it.
oh, you are SO not kidding. SO, so, soooooooo not kidding. my question is (both literal and figurative) why can't i hold ON to those rosy moments during the gray???? thanks for sharing these pics though. so incredibly lovely to have that out your door!!!
Great observation and beautiful photos, Lecia! Hope your day is gray, yet great....
I really like the first photo! Lecia do you draw? This would be photo would be fun to sketch. Gray is a pretty color- soft and warm.
Have a golden day my friend! xoxo
Just found your blog- Love the name! A day at the beach is exactly what the soul needs!
Thanks everyone for your compliments about the photos and your reflections about parenting. Alexi and I both enjoyed thinking about what you had to say. (And yes, we live next to the ocean...)
Kwana: happy birthday to your babies (fifteen? - how can that be??)!
Joyce: I agree, it would make a beautiful drawing.
