Corner View: Cityscape of Seattle

I love this city. The view above is partly responsible; this was taken on the beach we live across the street from. From our house, we hear the sounds of the waves, and see the marine traffic of Elliott Bay, and breathe in the salty air. When I'm away from the ocean for very long it's hard for me to breathe. I love being within minutes of a beach and at the same time not very far from the mountains. I grew up in a similar setting in Valdez, Alaska; it provides me with a sense of comfort and familiarity. I also love living in the middle of a city and at the same time being so close to wilderness. I know there are beautiful forests and beaches everywhere, but the ones here, and this city, are close to my heart. And that is why I'm pretty sure this will always be my home.

I believe Seattle to be a beautiful city. I enjoyed my visit there once on my way to camping at Mt. Rainier. The city experience was fun, and the mountain was/is breathtaking. You live in a lovely part of the country.

Beautiful and breath taking!!

When we are away from home as soon as we get back we head straight to the sea first and get our fix!!

Have a lovely day,

You know, I want to feel that way about the place where I live. My husband and I have been discussing options, and are seriously starting to consider possibilities. Life is far too short to live somewhere just because of circumstance and history.

I too love Seattle. A beautiful and hospitable place to visit. Wonderful food and things to do. Only 3 hours by air from my little town of Anchorage Alaska.

You are fortunate. As I spent the weekend at the beach, I was wishing for a perfect location. . . with beach and mountains and city. Your place looks close.

Mmm, I love your city too. It's a place I would consider living. Except for the whole rain thing would make my hair frizzy.. but I could deal with that after seeing these gorgeous views!

Sometimes Corner View makes me green with envy and this post is one reason why! Even though I live in southern California and see mountains and beaches quite easily, they're certainly not visible from my own house. I would love to visit Seattle. Thanks for the corner view!

What a beautiful place to live, Lecia. I can totally relate about having to live near the ocean/beach. I don't like being land-locked.

I can see why! I would love to see it someday--I've never been there.
