Most mornings, Alexi brings me coffee in bed. I love this, both because I feel cared about and because I get to wake up a bit before getting busy with the morning's activities. I think of this space as a virtual cup of coffee I share with you every day, so it seems only fitting that this week's corner view topic is coffee. Since Seattle is a coffee lover's Mecca, I'm taking you out of my kitchen for this post and to a favorite coffee shop. (When I'm there, I usually order a double tall 2% latte; sometimes an americano with room for cream instead.) In Seattle the milk is usually organic or at least rBGH free, you can have soy instead if you like; people order it extra hot, with/without foam, with a little bit of foam, on and on...(Locals: can you guess where these photos were taken? Hint: I had a strawberry nutella panini...) You are scattered all across the globe, as this corner view project I'm writing for today attests to so well. In many ways we are as different as we can be, as I know from your comments and emails and blog links. Some of you have never been parents, some are grandparents. What brings you here may be defined very differently for each of you and may be a number of things. But I think it has something do with a common goal of mindfulness in our lives. Thank you for joining me for coffee, and seeing past our differences, and finding what we share in common.

i like this post that is a bit of home (as are many of your posts)! i miss meeting friends at coffee shops in seattle...
I am enjoying this corner view. I especially appreciate you taking us out for coffee this morning-as I had a little pup get me up extra early today. With everyone's hectic lives, these morning visits through this venue have been a blessing. Put us all
together...that's one strong voice.
Example: April Food Day!
Lecia, I always appreciate your thoughts, especially over a shared web coffee.
You live in the coffee-drinking capital of the world.
Your photos are really good, by the way.
I love this photo group! Nutella is quite popular in Germany, but I have never heard of strawberry Nutella. Great post!
i see the stumptown coffee beans, which are getting a lot of attention over here in NYC, since their owner moved over and is trying to launch here! we roast our own beans (crazy? a bit) at home, so i haven't had a chance to try it yet... but i might have to!
That coffee shop looks great!
I love a good coffee shop. Beautiful pics. Cheers.
Great photos, this coffee shops looks fantastic! Lovely post.
What a beautiful coffee house.
Some mornings my dear brings me a cup of hot coffee to my bedside and I smell the delightful aroma, hear the birds chirping and give thanks for another day in paradise!
I need to take some shots of my morning coffee and post them.
I need to also travel to Seattle and share a cup with you.
pve
I absolutely love what you wrote! Thank you.
Lecia -- I am loving reading all the coffee posts this morning since I'm having to make do with water only due to blood work later (stupid cholesterol check). As always, your photos are so moving. And what better place to enjoy a cuppa than in Seattle? Thanks so much for sharing.
I sure would love to share a cup of coffee with you at your local coffee shop. Enjoy! xoxo
lovely post lecia!... oh how i miss american coffee houses... have a great day! besos-jane
Coffee shops are my favorite places! We're a college town, so we're blessed with a dearth of them as well.
That looks like a coffee shop I'd like to visit !!
We drink our coffee the same way. Great post, Lecia. I wish I could get my hands on a good Seattle cuppa right now.
I come to your blog for the luscious photos - and I am never disappointed :)
Love,
Jodi
ah, the bay area and italy follow suit with seattle. :)
and i agree, blogs are my morning cuppa (although i have to start with tea before moving to coffee!).
beautiful shots!

How sweet to have coffee in bed. The perfect way to wake up. Your cookie photo is making me terribly hungry for something sweet. Yum!
-Lisa :)
Why, Volunteer Park Cafe, of course! They make the best cookies in the city, and the best chicken/grape salad.
Can I schedule a conference with Alexi and my husband? I think they need to talk about the importance of pampering the wife first thing in the morning...
beautiful photos -- your cafe looks great
Beautiful pictures! Incidentally, my drink of choice is a double-tall extra-hot whole milk latte :) I don't comment very often(on any blog, though I read lots) but I just had to share that reading your blog with a hot cup of French press with cream is part of my morning ritual, so I especially loved your theme today :) You always add a little mindful loveliness to the start of my day.
strawberry-nutella panini??!!
was it macrina? wherever it was, i must go now!
I was going to say, that this corner view is right up your alley! Strawberry panini? Count me in. Thanks for sharing such beautiful pics.
Ohhhhhhhh. I wish I was there right now!
Lovely photos of a lovely place! And I had figured it out even before I saw Susie's comments, so I'm feeling very Seattle now. Makes me think I'm overdue for a visit there. I love living in a coffee shop town, even though I'm blessed with a coffee geek husband who makes me a soy latte every morning with Stumptown beans on his fancy Italian espresso maker.
tanks for the coffee!
There is nothing like sharing differences over a cup of coffee, right?
strawberry nutella panini? yum! and lovely words to go with it. very nicely put.
I love it! My sweet husband brings me coffee in bed, and it's the best. I am going to Seattle for the first time this summer and am so excited! Love your blog!
looks like volunteer park cafe - where i took two kids this morning for a pre-school treat then went back and had lunch! love the place...
Kira
I love your pictures and how lucky are you to have coffee in bed before you start anything.
Great post!!
All's I gotta say is that right now I'm looking forward to bedtime so that I can wake up in the morning to a good, hot cup of coffee.
Just coming across your blog for the first time, and I'm glad I did! Beautiful photos!
Ooohwww....your pictures are beautiful as always!! And how nice to have coffee brought to you in the morning. I should have a chat with my hubby now -lol-
OOhh, to above post I forgot to mention that I have FaceBook and Twitter! Love both of them..
Coffee in bed. Love. I really enjoyed reading your words.
what a beautiful post! i loved the photos and i loved to read your words.
What lovely pictures! The first is my favourite, it just looks so appealing. Thanks for calling by at my coffee post yesterday. I'm very pleased to find your blog too :)
That looks like such a lovely place to sit and have a chat over a lovely cup of coffee and there is so much choice, there is not anywhere near that much choice near here - choice of milk? near where I live it is with or without although some days I think I need that otherwise I wouldn't get around to ordering.
Visiting people's blogs is a little like a cup of coffee with a slice of their lives with it
lucky you to be spoilt for choice with coffee shops in seattle! and for having a husband who gets you a cup of coffee every morning :) that's what my father always used to do for my mum as well.
in my neighbourhood there's a coffee shop whose owners have imported a huge professional, state-of-the-art coffee machine all the way from seattle from berlin. that's how famous you are... :)
Ah, VPC! My favorite lunch (and dinner) place in the city! Have you been to Odd Fellows yet?? Should we meet there?? Great blog, Lecia!
