We've had a fairly wet week here; Abbott's baseball game and make-up baseball game were both rained out. It rarely rains the whole day, however; we've gotten out whenever it lets up a bit. And look at the resulting green!
From Taina: If you weren't leading the life you have now, what would you be doing? Is there a particular profession you wished you had tried/had the talent for?
If I didn't have children, I'd probably still be working as a nurse practitioner. Having had cancer (for the second time) in 2005, I think it would be very hard emotionally to go back to work in an oncology setting as I was doing. And now that I haven't worked in that profession for years, I am such a different person. Motherhood has made me realize what a huge draw creative pursuits are for me. If I were to decide to pursue another profession, I might explore my options as a book editor or a photo editor.
How would you answer Taina's question?
Happy Friday to you!

I can see that especially since you do take amazing photos. Have a great weekend.
Oh yes a photo editor. But I think you are doing just what you were meant to be doing.
Have a great weekend.
I'm new to your blog, and didn't know you had a history of past illness. I'm really sorry, and I can see why you wouldn't want to go back to your former profession. You mention considering book editing, do you like the publishing, the reading or the writing aspect?
interesting question. i think i'd go into interior design or styling!
Happy weekend.
I wish you and Taina could meet, the two of you would get along so nicely - I love the question posed to you. Love to see you publish a book with your gorgeous photos and your positive outlook. Would you autograph my copy?

That's a very tough question. My entire life, the only thing I wanted was to be a Mom. After the second was born, I knew that I wanted more...but I've never figured out entirely what that was.
Beautiful pictures as always!
LOVE these. wow!
Beautiful pictures. I'm not sure this morning how I'd answer this question but I thank you for your honestly and an so grateful for you making it through.
lovely shot that first one! have a good weekend!
I would be on Broadway or in Cirque de Soliel. But never would I have missed the wonderful years of raising my kids. I always say I will one day make it to Broadway...even if it's just a walk-on role as a little old lady with a walker taking a stroll across the back of the stage while humming a custom-made tune!
I'm so glad you're taking photos. They add smiles to my world!
With your past career as a NP and mow a creative and talented mother-photographer-home manager (I could go on and on)... you have fully utilized the left & right sides of your brain talent areas!! Hope this makes sense... I have a teaching degree and have worked in my husband's law practice now for so long that I should have gone back and gotten a law degree so I could practice on my own. I would do adoptions, wills, estates and animal rights issues.
what pretty photos; you would be an amazing photo editor. and thank you for the sweet comment about smitten! i'm so touched that you like it! xo
As I don´t have children I´m wondering what kind of life I would have if I had be given 1 or more children.
Have a great weekend, Jeannette
Goodness - I didn't know that you're a cancer survivor. You're one heckuva woman, Lecia, and I can totally see you as a photography editor. Your pics are always just beautiful. I think I'd have gone on to grad school for either Art History or Creative Writing. So practical, I know! Have a good weekend. xo.
Gorgeous pictures! And go you! You're an inspiration! I'm doing what I enjoy now that I'm a stay at home Mom, writing about style. : ) Too bad I don't get paid for it. Ah ha.
Your photos are brilliant and I love the question posts - a great way to get to know each other. Happy weekend, xv.
beautiful. i had no idea you had cancer. i have had not, but it has been a huge part of our lives for the past 3 years. i am sorry and am glad you are a survivor.
again, i say "ditto" to your statement about motherhood having pulled you further towards creative pursuits.

I kind of wish I would have gone into dancing. I love it, but am horrible.
I agree with Debra, I think you are doing just what you were meant to. Who could have a better mom than your boys? Plus, we get all the pleasure from your beautiful blog and photos! You really are a gifted creative. Have a great weekend, Lecia!

that was a great question and a great answer! to continue off of this answer, and also inspired by your recent comment on my "extremes" post, here is my question: what fuels your creativity? what inspires you? and what 'satiates' your creative appetite?
beautiful photos. I could see you as a photo editor... definitely. :)
Lovely photographs...so very glad to find your blog. You seem such a kindred spirit that I can't wait to follow along.
