I was really impressed by the clouds yesterday afternoon while walking through my neighborhood in search of a bench.
I'm going to be quite busy over the next couple of weeks and will have little time for writing. So...would you like to participate? Ask me a question about my life or whatever and I'll post the answers over the course of the next couple of weeks. I've always enjoyed opportunities to learn more about the "blogger behind the blog", and thought you might, too. I'd love to hear from you! (idea via Blair)
Those of us in Seattle can now enjoy locally grown rhubarb and asparagus, and we've been eating lots of both the past couple of weeks.
Last night I made this rhubarb cobbler and we loved it. I prefer rhubarb alone rather than combined with strawberries. Any dessert made with fruit seems at least a little bit healthy, doesn't it?
Addendum: after reading this, my sister emailed me to say, "Remember how we used to play with rhubarb as kids? I remember we used to turn them into "umbrellas" with their big leaves and sing "singing in the rain for ketchup". :). The memory makes me smile."

Oh, I love rhubarb! It reminds me of my childhood... And asparagus is one of those veggies I could not live without.
Have a happy Tuesday!
Lecia~ Your rhubarb dessert looks yummy! I love the tartness of it!
We are anxiously awaiting the local farmer's markets to open.
Yum yum, I'm a rhubarb fan too. And a purist at that - it should never be mixed with other fruit!!! So I have a question for you about your parenting philosophy, you seem like a wonderful mother. What parenting books have you drawn from and in particular what advice have you found useful when it comes to raising your sons?
It just occured to me that I don't know what rhubarb tastes like by itself
Rhubarb grows like crazy around here. & now we have increased daylight, everything that grows is coming back to life. Gorgeous! Don't have any questions for you but will continue to follow your adventures. xoxo
Oh I love Rhubarb! My favorite is rhubarb custard pie I grew up on. I know the feeling, my dance cards some how is getting full. xoxo
lecia, so funny. you and i so often blog-think alike. i have been crafting an "about me" post for a little while. right now, it just reads all wrong to me, so i haven't posted it yet!

Two of my favorites! Hope you had a wonderful Mom's day! It seemed like you really did! :)
yum! looks delicious :)
i'll be thinking of some questions, that sounds like a great idea!
question: you truly make motherhood look like such a joy... what would you say are your toughest challenges in being a mom, and how do you get through them? (advice please!!!) xoh
Great pictures! You always take such good pictures. What kind of camera do you use? Do you use different lenses or just one? What photo program do you like best or do you use one? Sorry multiple question!
Pixelhazard: by itself, I mean without strawberries to accompany but not unsweetened...I don't know if anyone eats rhubarb unsweetened?
I think it's nice of you to consider answering questions from commenters, and I'll think of one. Right now, what strikes me the most is that the intriguing and mysterious woman in dark glasses and behind a camera in the userpic (gorgeous photo, I stare at it each time!) would propose this ... This is a question, really, but I'll keep my option:)
wow this looks incredible. i'm heading out for dessert right after lunch!
Yum, rhubarb! I've got a little rhubarb plant on the side of my house that I've been picking from this past week. So far I've made rhubarb bread, and next I'd like to whip up a rhubarb compote - it's great over ice-cream or vanilla yogurt.
I'll definitely think up a question or two for ya!
That delicious looking cobbler makes me smile! :-)
Isn't it great how a single memory can fill your entire day with happy memories? I love when that happens.
That looks absolutely divine! My grandma used to give me rhubarb and I just didn't know what to think of it. Now I love it and I love stawberries with it. (I wish I had a scratch and sniff computer screen right now!.. okay that just sounded weird) :)
heidi stole my question --- "everything you do looks good and happy." is there ever any bad, a bad day where you might just lose it, or scream at someone?...that is my question. I think everyone seems a bit more on edge, with the economy and such. sort of like the stress during the holidays.
What is your strength?
What is your weakness?

I have been admiring your blog from a distance for a while, I think I found you through another blogger Debbie. I really love your photo's and simple take on life.
So tell me what do you do when you run out of steam, when things get so busy, what do you do? What is your choice of relaxation?
What perfect timing for me to stumble upon!
My husband must've brought home 20 lbs of rhubarb last night and I was looking for a good cobbler recipe. Gonna make pie, too, but your photo was definitely the kicker.
Yum!
I have a question for you, Lecia: if you weren't leading the life you have now, what would you be doing? E.g., is there a particular profession you wished you had tried/had the talent for?
Hi Lecia, I'm a friend of Becky's and a sometimes-lurker on your blog. I just wanted to say thanks for this recipe--I tried it the other night and it was oh-so-good!
