I am so enjoying the long evenings, sleeping with the windows open, lilacs, peonies...I've been thinking a lot about community these days. I read a great article in Sunset about making your neighborhood more of a community; take a look! - it's inspiring. And yesterday in church our pastor recounted the story of Breathing Space: A Spiritual Journey in the South Bronx, a book about community building in a powerful way. I can't wait to read it.

Ah...community in a neighborhood...that's a dream of ours that's never come true. Our own neighborhood leans towards the unfriendly side. We're thinking about moving in the next few years because we're ready for better.
