We camped over the weekend at Fort Ebey State Park on Whidbey Island. This park has much to offer - hiking and biking trails, a long stretch of beach, a pond (that can be fished), big open grassy spaces (very windy; great for flying kites)... an ideal spot.
this looks a lot like point reyes, CA (near where my parents live) and some of the other beaches along the noCal coast. stunning. look at those huge staffs of seaweed! wow.
and, btw, haven't heard of fran's but will google it. definitely make your own raspberry sauce. you could can it if you used A LOT more sugar than in my recipe and a bit more lemon juice.
I have been "to camp" as a young girl...church camp in cabins with bunk beds and latrines. But I've never been camping. I've never really thought of myself as a camper. But I do love the outdoors, and your photos make me wonder if maybe there isn't a bit of a camper inside me somewhere.
Although my idea of camping is at the Hotel Vintage in Seattle (I love their 5 PM free wine tastings!), the beauty in your area is just stunning!! Looks like the weather cooperated and you all had a wonderful time. Kite flying! Used to love to fly kites at the Jersey Shore on a cloudy, windy day!! xoxoxo
hi lecia! i'm catching up on your posts from being gone for two weeks. these pictures are so gorgeous, both the water and the field shots! i love them.

That place looks gorgeous, and such different scenery from what we're used to down here.
