July, already

Yes, July. This will be a full month for us. I'm finding myself spending less and less time sitting at the computer to write, so I'll be posting a bit differently this month. There will be photos - there are always photos - and if I have words to share, I'll share them. I'll attempt to capture how our daily living changes from season to season, and how it remains constant.

Yesterday was a magic summer day for the kids and me, biking together. Still water. Wildflowers. The rustling of a slight breeze in the shore grass. Birds. Interrupted occasionally by Cal's revving sounds. And Abbott's intermittent chattering. Time stood still for a few hours.

Upon our return home, Abbott photocopied his coloring page from the restaurant, and set up a restaurant of his own in our living room, complete with coloring pages. Then he made invitations for all the neighbor kids.

I am amazed that it is July already! I find June to be the longest summer month - the kids are getting used to the new routine of being home (school is out end of May in the South), not yet in the rhythm. July always seems to be the heart of the summer - we are in full swing, often traveling, 4th of July. Then August is the countdown until school - school starts in mid-August - getting new school shoes and uniforms, enjoying those last few weeks at the pool.

Your sons are very imaginative. If I lived nearby, I would color with them. :)

I love your sons' creativity! Can't wait to see what they'll do with all of it when they grow up. But...no hurry!

I'm amazed that it's already July as well - but for my own personal reasons. I'm now a bit more than half way through my birthday year, a year that I had been looking forward to for a long time!

I enjoy the details Abbott puts into his restaurant. I would like to make reservations for two, please.

Do we need reservations to Abbott's restaurant? So creative! July already ...certainly feels like summer here.

I know, July already?? I'm feeling like it's time to back away from the computer a bit, too. Our summers here in Minnesota are just too darn short!

amazing photos! yes, i too spend less time online. and i guess that's the way it should be. there will be plenty of time to catch up when the good weather is not calling us outside to play and soak in the warm sun.

wishing you a joyful july!

Your day sounds lovely and planning special days out like that, priceless.

When you described what your son did, my first thought was "What a sweet, generous soul". I am happy you are so blessed and admire this blog.
