Yesterday morning was windy, stormy. I found myself feeling seasick at times just looking at the water. The wind was warm, however, and it wasn't raining, so we had a great morning of beach exploration.
Other photos of some of our low tide finds can be found here and here.

love that starfish!
Such cool pictures! But I hate to see that poor starfish stranded on the sand :-(
Super fantastic photos... I love all the sea creatures that you found.
You're so lucky being able to go to the beach just like that I really miss it being so close!
Wow, look at that starfish! These photos really have a mood...remind me of my childhood in Northern California, when we'd go 'tidepooling.'
the ocean is certainly a magical place....
xo
i like the little tiny burrow holes in the sand. the starfish is, of course, glorious. i have never seen one that color before.
i love this darker side of the seaside, the somberness that your camera's eye imparts. really great stuff.
these photos are gorgeous. i love the clouds.
ok so have people been asking you when you're going to "home school" You're already doing it you know. I hope the boys schools have some great kids because as I see it that's the only reason. Your trips with them are amazing. Everything you teach and show them is on VIBRANT view. what a fun time at the beach. yeah for no rain and warm air.
Lovely photos, as always, Lecia. And I love your Fourth of July cake in the header!
Very sci-fi this morning. Some of those photos look like the surface of some distant planet. Cool.
I bet the boys were having a hay day with all the activity on the beach! Looks like it could be fun. xoxo
Wonderful photos! love that starfish!
Even rainy days are fun at the beach! Great pictures.
I absolutely adore starfish! The business manager in my last workplace had a gigantic salt tank in her office (their family business was to design and build these super-cool aquariums for a lot of wealthy people and businesses). I used to spend my breaks in her office, happily watching the starfish.
How I wish I were at the beach--sun or no sun! Unfortunately, northern Connecticut doesn't offer that :(
Fantastic photos!
Lovely life in the sea! So much to see I am sure it was delightful to discover all the treasures with young eyes in wonderment.
My favorite picture is of all the starfish clustered together. Fat and healthy!! Thank you for sharing this beautiful experience with us, Lecia!!!
Fantastic pictures of low tide and your findings are fabulous.

what great pics...makes me miss the coast.
Lecia - do you know some of that wildlife? could you identify some of it?
Wonderful pictures !!!!
these are super cool!
these are just beautiful - you take such gorgeous
We get almost no tides at all in the Mediterranean, and hardly any beach treasures from the sea. Your photos remind me of a summer a couple of years ago, spent on the coast in Oregon exploring low tides (in very strong winds)!
