Anemones everywhere.
Gooseneck barnacles are sensitive to changes in light. If you wave a hand over them and create a shadow, they retract. This is an evolutionary protection against predatory birds.
Puffins! The only other place I've ever seen them is around Whittier, Alaska.

I love your photos. Life could be an adventure every day, right?
very interesting and beautiful pics!
Each and every day, it feels like a mini-adventure here. (repeat after me...lucky, lucky, lucky!)

Gorgeous pictures!!
Fantastic photos!
Your photos are like looking at a National Geographics.
I strongly second PVEs comments and will add you can almost smell the briny air wafting off the screen....... Love the details and the gorgeous, plump and healthy starfish. Never thought of barnacles as retractable! Mother Nature is amazing.
There are lots and lots of Puffins in Seward too. I love how they scuttle over the water.
Yes Lecia, I would have loved to meet you while I was in Seattle.... next time!!!
beautiful, lecia.
may i ask 2 blogger questions?
1) how do you get your photos so large?
2) how did you adjust your template to 3 columns?
the first is one reason i am frustrated with blogger. i just mention that because you asked what i disliked about blogger in response to a post of mine a couple weeks ago.
thanks!

what gorgeous shots! i love the seaside...
these photos truly are beautiful. i didn't grow up on the coast, and although i've lived in California for 13 years, i still feel so lucky to live five minutes from the beach. and i love tide pools!
I loved seeing your pictures taken at Cannon Beach. We used to live near to Portland and spent many many weekends out at Cannon beach exploring and enjoying it all. We too have some great pictures of the sea stars. Its now almost 3 years since we were there - and I still miss it. Thanks
Absolutely stunning - your pictures are amazing.

I love your photos! Thank you for sharing them.
I think I want to come to the beach with you -ok?
I'm awefully fond of starfish!
My brother is a rabid salt tank aquarium builder, and I'm going to have to send him a link so that he can see your pics!
those starfish are incredible!
My girls are doing a marine camp through the Audobon Society - I'm sure your boys would love it!
