I love lighthouses. They evoke a time gone by, and interesting and exciting stories to imagine. We have one at the southern tip of NJ whereby you can sleep overnight in it.
aahh--lighthouses! one of my very favorite things in life! i have not spent much time at all on the washington coast (an odd thing to say for having lived in seattle for so long)...these lighthouses are on the list for when we return!
I love lighthouses and how far one can see out of their windows and the strength of their walls to hold up against the weather. The first shot would be fun to paint.
Lecia when do the boys go back to school? Some of my friend's kids start already on Monday. Where did the summer go? xoxo
Lighthouses are always a bit of a mystery to me. I wonder about the men and women who tend to them and live in them. What is that life like? The photo of your boys is very sweet indeed.
What a haunting and delightful post. Ron and I "visited" the link page, so informative and interesting. Was a highlight of our morning discussions! Thank you so much Lecia, your visit with the boys entertained and informed us so wonderfully! Can you imagine hauling 30 lbs of kerosene up those stairs???? Yikes! xoxo
I've always thought that lighthouses were very sad and melancholy places...lonely and mysterious. I was also heavily influenced as to their importance by - ahem - Disney's Pete's Dragon.
As usual, wonderful pictures! Thank you very much for sharing!

Wow! That’s breath taking view. It’s so beautiful. The light houses are amazing. I wish I could go there.
Fantastic view! I always wanted to live near a light house so whenever I feel melancholy I would just go up the light house and see this amazing view.
What wonderful pictures....the water crashing and the staircase feel very Edgar Allan Poe. Fabulous....xv
I love old lighthouses and there are many here on the NE Coast...I also love the lighthouse stamps that are out now!

I love that they have "Crossing the Bar" posted--and that your title of this post is a Virginia Woolf novel! So very literary of you today :)

These have got to be some of my favorite pics from you yet. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.
Light houses are my favorite! I just saw a couple when I went to the beach the other day. I always thought it would be too much fun to live there.

i love lighthouses!
Such a gorgeous setting, Lecia. My favorite photo is of the boys hugging in their hoodies, though. Adorable! XO
I love lighthouses too. Great pics, I especially like the one up the spiral staircase.
Cape Disappointment! The name kind of undersells it, don't you think?
Such breath taking pictures and I love the upward look spiral.

this makes me miss washington. we have lighthouses out near us but the landscape is not as wild like this.
Loveeeee lighthouses! I'm so intrigued by them, and take a walk through one where/whenever I can.
