Abbott is already loving second grade; that's about all we could get out of him.
Cal had a pre-K open house today that included a scavenger hunt. He spent most of the time observing everything and everyone, true to his nature. Tomorrow and Friday will be a half day of school for him - hope that goes well. He's excited to be at the same school as Abbott for the first time ever, but not happy being across the campus from him. More than once at the open house he asked to go see Abbott.
We are looking forward to this year.
And even though our summer vacation is over, and I'm having to switch on a light to make coffee in the mornings and it was chilly enough to wear jackets on the way to school, there remains a bit of summer to be had. Forecast says 80 tomorrow.

How exciting. And I LOVE the photo of Cal's chair with his name on it. Question: do people ever think it's weird the things you take photos of? It's been an inner struggle for me to just not care what people think when I start taking photographs of things I'm guessing most people don't take pics of!
I love watching your boys grow up, thank you for sharing.
well it sure looks sunny at school...
that photo of them is "priceless!"
please tell them I wish them an excellent year ahead!
pve
Your boys are so very handsome! It seems that Abbott dives right in, and Cal is abit more reserved. My Mother told me I cried my entire day of kindegarten, and then warmed up to it the second day. That was many many years ago. Everyone is different in how they approach change. You are a very insightful Mother, who knows her children well.
back to school already.....love the pic of the two boys....such handsome and cute young men!!!
enjoy your time alone....:)
xo
aaaaw, good luck kiddos!
That picture of your two boys is precious.
We are in the midst of first day prep here, the bus comes in an hour and my daughter has her backpack, bus tag and lunch bag all on and in her hands "Is it time to go yet?"
Hi Lecia,
My youngest (a boy too) just started Kindergarten this year, as well!
Hope they both have a great first "real school" experience.
Love the pic of Cal hiding his face in you; one for the scrapbook :-)
Oops, just saw that he was in pre-K.
Happy first year anyway :-)
Lecia, I can't believe how much your boys are growing!! I hope Cal will enjoy school as much as his big brother. xoxo
Oh! Cal face made me sad as a mother you feel their fear. I'm sure its a hard transition for him. Hope today is a good day.
They are so handsome! Wonderful pics.
And I can't believe you're able to wear jackets in the morning! Summer is going strong in the ATL.
awww so sweet.... Just stopping by to say hi..... xoxo
Hi Lecia! You're boys are so cute - sounds like you're in the midst of all the back-to-school stuff. Charlie started 4th grade last week, and Juliet will start her 2nd year of pre-k on Monday; she's so excited. So am I! :)
Aw, good luck to the little guys! Looks like they're off to a great start :-)
This is a very silly observation, but I think that's the first time I"ve ever seen 'posed' pictures of your boys! It took me a bit by surprise...and they are very handsome subjects. Glad to hear that it's going well!
ohh. that little chair with the nametag and the smiling crayons. it's too much. hope cal had a great day today at school! (and abbott as well, of course). can't wait to hear about it.
