Abbott has been home from school, sick, all week. While the reason is unfortunate, I've quite enjoyed the time alone with him - precious and rare. He's distressed about missing school; he loves his teacher because "she has a great sense of humor, she's nice to us, and she makes everything fun."
Being home almost all day the past few days has provided me with an opportunity to notice the fleeting moments fall days are full of - sun intermixed with rain, wind...
Yesterday I was interviewed by my blogging friend Sarah Jio for Glamour's health and fitness blog; you can read it here, if you like.

My husband returned from a week away, and he commented on how much the leaves changed as well as the temperature.
Very nice photos, and I hope Abott is feeling better after a day at home with lots of attention and that he looks forward to getting back to school with his fun teacher.

I hope Abbott is feeling better.

I hope Abbott is better soon. Thanks for these beautiful images.
Lecia, I'm at a loss for words. I admire your strength and your smile. Reading about your sadness about missing an important stage of your kids childhood while you were undergoing treatment, I was overwhelmed by my own sadness about spending many years of my own kids early childhood crying over their stillborn siblings. I have a lot to learn from your strength and your smile.
beautiful images and a sweet glimpse in to your everyday life.
i read the interview. i'm at a loss of words. francesca is right, we could certainly all learn a thing or two from your strength and your smile.
wishing you a beautiful day!
Absolutely fantastic interview! Wow! I agree about following your instincts. I think it means something to pay attention. So glad you did...
Thank you for sharing the interview with us. I have only started following your blog since summer and had not realized that you have battled breast cancer twice. Unfortunately, I lost my cousin this summer to breast cancer so I know what a journey you have been through. You are very courageous and I admire your strength.
Continue to love your family and yourself as you do. I see thru your posts how you take the time to "be in the moment" with the photos you share with us.
Keep up your lovely work...
Lovely photos! Hope Abbott gets better soon, and BTW I love his name.

these are beautiful fall images, lecia. and what a great interview!!
Much as I can't stand being mauled by my children, and much as I have BIG personal space issues, I have to admit that the sweetness of a snugly sick kid has always been quite special to my heart.
Hope your son is on the mend super-quick! Those pictures are beautiful.
