the upcoming feast

Despite the effort involved in planning, shopping and so forth, there is nothing like spending Thanksgiving in the kitchen and around the table with those you love. What are your plans for the upcoming feast? We're hosting. Alexi's mother and stepfather are here for the holiday; his cousin and another friend will also be joining us.

I hope your day is full of love and good food!

This year, we are not hosting but going to friends. I am preparing "brussels sprouts with chestnuts" and giving special thanks to each and every one of my blog buddies!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

My hubby and I are cooking for a small group: my Mother, brother and sister. All of Allen's siblings are scattered throughout the U.S. This will be a small dinner, but cozy and filled with homey-like aromas. I love stepping outside for a minute or so to come back inside and inhale the different and delicious aromas. That is ingrained from childhood - very comforting.
I wish for you and family a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Such a cute photo with your kitty and stockinged (is that a word?) feet! About to do what I consider a most annoying job- emptying the dishwasher. Always have hated doing that. Would rather clean house.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and happy cooking, Lecia!

Hi Lecia, I dont comment on your blog all that often but I do read it daily and on Thanksgiving, I wanted to let you know how I appreciative I am of you and your blog and the gorgeous, inspirational pictures and words that you post each day. I love to start my day but checking in with your blog each morning. I will be heading home to see my family in a few hours and I wish you and your family a wonderful thanksgiving!

We are going to spend Thanksgiving at a friends house with 40 other people-20 of those will be children. Should be fun and loud!

I live in Austria where there of course is no Thanksgiving...but we are going to have an 'Erntedankfest' next weekend where I'll make turkey, stuffing, the works.
I just know you will produce a table full of delicious food, and you will all have a memorable day together.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

My mom volunteered me to host Thanksgiving this year. I said that was fine as long as she still brought the turkey. I will just be my husband and I with my mom, dad, sister and brother. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

We're hosting and I am thrilled! Thanksgiving is my most favorite meal to prepare and to share. I started cooking last night and can't wait to get back in the kitchen!

We're heading home to spend a few days with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend. I'm actually pretty stressed out about the trip for a whole lot of reasons this year. We'll see.

The good news is that my brother's girlfriend and I hijacked the meal so we will have a bunch of new - more healthful - dishes this year!

And I do adore getting to see my brother and his girlfriend. That's the best part for me.

Although we're eating at my parents' house tomorrow....I'm cooking at home also. There is nothing like a warm kitchen full of family on Thanksgiving. I hope your day is wonderful!

Wishing you and your family and wonderful day as well - we'll be going to church in the a.m. (both kids singing in choir) and then to my dad's for Thanksgiving lunch. After that I'm off to work for the eve/night...it's my holiday to work this year. Oh well, extra money is always nice! Best to you.

I get a free pass and I'm heading for the aunt and uncle's house. Whoo hoo! Better yet, it's only a 20 minute drive. I have one little baking project and I believe for the first time over I'm making a Tofurky! (I'm a vegetarian. ;-) We'll see how that goes...

Have a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving with your family! And thank YOU for your beautiful blog.

Today was a day just like any other work day for me. No Thanksgiving in Sweden! But on Saturday I'll be hosting five friends for dinner and some American tradition. A few days late, but better late than never!
