visitors

We're enjoying a visit from some of the boys' Grandparents. Their school is having a Grandparents and Special Friends Day today, so they came for that and will stay through Thanksgiving. Abbott made them brownies all by himself after school (aside from the oven part) as a welcome treat.

Our guest room includes the bedroom set we bought from Ikea when we were first married. A quilt we received as a wedding gift hangs on the wall; the glider/rocking chair used when the boys were infants is now in this room. The two books in the last picture were handed down to us recently from Alexi's father. When we don't have someone staying in this room, it's a cozy spot for reading to the boys, building forts, and spreading out lots of Lego. The bed most frequently is a laundry depository and napping spot for our cat Cinnamon.

Happy Friday to you!

Enjoy! My parents have not been here in quite some time, as they are getting on in years and travel is too difficult. I loved preparing a room for them. We do not have a guest room, but we would make believe~

Your guest room looks so warm and comforting; a perfect place to bring a relative or friend in from the outside elements. I love that quilt - it's beautiful, made from love for love.
Have a great weekend w/your family!

Enjoy the moments with your parents the time goes fast. How wonderful they were able to make it to the school function and stay through Thanksgiving.

What a cozy room. Your guests will feel loved on, for sure! Looks like hospitality in action!

When I was young I loved overnight guests. I would pretend our home was a bed and breakfast and I'd add special touches to the room...mints on the pillow, a letter of welcome, fresh towels and flowers by the bed. My young hospitality in action.

The quilt is lovely. Anyone would be love to sleep in that comfy room.
I always put books, water and candy or cookies of some sort in guest bedrooms. Everyone gets hungry at night!
