Today I'm accompanying Abbott's second grade class on a field trip to the Seattle Art Museum. His class has been focusing on balance in art and in science, so our trip targets the Alexander Calder exhibit.
The better part of my day yesterday was spent shopping. Those of you in Seattle remember the way the snow virtually shut down the city the two weeks before Christmas last year. I'm feeling the need to be ready, just in case it happens again (snow on the forecast for next week).
Happy Friday!

You are smart to get your shopping done and over with. This way you can sit back and drink egg nog and enjoy the holiday! Have a wonderful weekend!
Mmmh, eggnog...Haven't had it in over ten years, since there is no such thing here in Austria! Once I tried making it at home but the result was a disaster. Maybe I should try again this year.
Enjoy all the wrapping!
So happy for you that you are accompanying Abbott and his class. When I was in the 6th grade, my Mother came on my class trip to the Museum of Natural History in NYC. I still remember it to this day. She was so nice to all the kids in my class, (and is still very nice to everyone). :)
Love eggnog! And I'd say you were well on your way to being organized for the holidays! Trips to museums and galleries are such fun for kids...but also adults!
(I left you a surprise on my blog!)
The art museum sound like fun.
I'll be heading out today to Christmas shop.
Have a great weekend,
Lori
Warm egg nog. Yum and almost sinfully good. It's lucky it's seasonal!
oh how funny..the word verification is eggloggi - wonder if it's a new word in the making.
Oh my! That shopping trip looks fun!
I never even heard of eggnog! Lots of nice things in those bags, I'm sure. Enjoy your Christmas shopping before the snow comes!
Somebody is really prepared!! xoxo
The photograph of that Straus Eggnog bottle is adorable...
Cheers !

Ooh, looks like some good stuff in those bags. I love Eileen Fisher.
Say more about this eggnog. What do you mix it with if you want to make it alcoholic?
I am drooling over that eggnog bottle. That is REAL eggnog.
I have yet to try real egg nog as we only seem to have egg nog flavour things in England, and yours is making me drool!

I'm wintering in Tucson and just enjoying the heck out of your Golden photos. Your photography is so good. Thank you for pictures of my old home. It's a beautiful place.
Your photos are wonderful, Lecia!!! I loved the way you captures the beginning of winter.. Amazing!
I think I'll leave the eggnog to you and to my husband. It's just not one of my favorite things....but peppermint mochas? THey are totally mine!
Your blog is so beautiful! I just stumbled onto it from Moveable Feasts.
I look forward to having a nice visit with it. I remember class trips with my children, they are some of our favorite memories. My kids still talk about our adventures.
Thanks for sharing. Pam
I think I could love eggnog if it came in such a bottle as yours!!! lovely photo :)
Hope your weekend was wonderful.
