This week at school Cal is learning all about the various winter holidays celebrated here and around the world. As I've listened to him describe what he's learned, and drawing on what I know, it seems they are all in some form a celebration of light shining in darkness, and of the magic and wonder that is all around us.
Wishing you a day filled with many moments of peace.

You have such a great blog. It's elegant.
yes, it is amazing how, at a closer look, the big religions have so much in common. and right now is the time to celebrate light.
Oh... I love this photo! Simply magic!
Thanks, Lecia. It is snowing like crazy over ANC. I am getting my clothes ready to FED EX to Jersey (I never check bags and now that airlines charge passengers a fee per checked bag, FED EX is the way to go). Headed there on Sunday night to spend the holidays with Mom while she is in the hospital. xoxoxo
and to you...
Thanks Lecia - wishing the same for you, too.
I love this observation!
I love the twinkle lights. Magical.
Beautiful bokeh! Have a warm & wonderful holiday, xxooh
That's a very important thing to learn: how very similar we all are, and how we are all moved by the same things.
I believe this may be one of my favorite pictures of yours. Thank you for sharing!
Perfectly out of focus. You are so creative to capture those lights in this way!
