Today is the day everything goes 'back to normal'; the holidays are officially over. I felt a bit heavyhearted last night at bedtime reading Little House with the boys, knowing that Monday will not feel this worry-free, unhurried. There will be homework. We will be tired at the end of the day. So I leave you with a few peaceful images from my home; I'll be carrying these in my heart as we return to our everyday lives today.

It is sad to say goodbye, but happy to say hello. I too will miss the lazy last couple of weeks not having to worry about time and schedules. Enjoy! xo
Aww, it is tomorrow here in England. My friend enjoyed her last lie in this morning, before the children go back to school. Even I can't believe how quickly this holiday has gone.
I know the feeling ... we're on holiday until the 6th, but I already know that I won't be ready for our full schedule to start! Happy Monday!
You are so right. The peace will be gone come this evening. Thanks for the pics.
Yesterday Ben (youngest) woke at 10 and said, "well, we only have to get up four hours earlier tomorrow. That STINKS!!!" This morning was not pretty!
Good luck getting back to real life. It's always an adjustment!
Thanks for sharing peace. We all need to hold on to a bit of it...
I love the silvery crab (my astrological sign). Alas, yes, back to the regular schedule. For me, Tuesday morning, Halle the standard poodle and I are leaving NJ for Anchorage....ready to resume the blog and introduce the new member of the family to the Pack!! xoxoxo (typing from my sister's office) It has been HARD to be "offline" for the holidays!!

In our family, the return to our regular life means that everything will be much quieter. Yes, the schedule can sometimes be hectic, but our kids on a good, solid schedule are MUCH calmer!
Sigh. Back to reality! It's nice to have a new beginning and a fresh start though. And now we can look forward to spring break!
Which Little House book are you reading? My favourites are In the Big Woods and On the Banks of Plum Creek.
Celebrate a little bit of each day, as my Dad loves to say, "Christmas" should be more than one day a year, it should live in our hearts all year.
I am a _ying-yang sort of gal, I love a little of both, a non scheduled, scheduled day!

it is bittersweet... all of the fun holidays are over... but wonderful things are ahead... lets all live every day to the fullest! x pam
Aargh, I know. Tomorrow is Laura's first day back. Hello doldrums!
Thank you friends. Erin: we're reading Little House on the Prarie. We've already read Little House in the Big Woods.
