We Shall Overcome

What are your plans for the long weekend? Alexi's father is coming to town today; we can hardly wait! Abbott will be playing in a hockey tournament.

Cal's prekindergarten class will be singing We Shall Overcome at an all school meeting this afternoon, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday. Here is a fabulous performance of this song; take a minute and watch and listen.

If you haven't already, please consider making a donation to support the earthquake victims in Haiti. We support Doctors Without Borders.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. xoxo

Lecia, that has been one of my favorite hymnes since I was a child. Thanks for sharing.
I was wondering if you (and your boys) would like to join in on this little project I started up. I call it the tiny nature table. You can read about it here:

Would love to see the tiny treasures people find on their walks around the world, through all seasons.
Enjoy your Friday! Hope you've found a solution you like for your shelf in the mudroom.

Unfortunately my office does not recognize MLK Day as a holiday and so I do not have an extended weekend. I'm really looking forward to going cross country skiing this weekend though!

Originally, we had intended to stay home this last weekend, and I was going to sample some new classes at the gym. Instead, we went to visit my parents because they needed some grandchildren cheer in a very bad way. It turned out to be a really good weekend.
