a great day

I had such a great day yesterday. I went running with a friend in the morning. I've really been feeling the need for my friendships; I spend so much time alone with my own thoughts. This week I've also got a lunch date and a night out planned with friends.

Alexi's off work this whole week, so we got to hang out a little bit while the kids were at school, even though we were both mostly busy doing mundane tasks.

The sun came out midday.

Abbott and Alexi went to hockey practice in the early evening, and Cal and I went to the beach and collected sea glass until the sun went down. When Abbott got home I asked him what he had learned; he said "Mom it was a practice, not a learn." OK.

Beautiful pics, beautiful thoughts. That picture of the flowers is now my new desktop background...a hint of spring as we await another 12-18 inches of snow here in Pennsylvania.

Such a clever boy...a practice and not a learn. (I always thought they were the same thing) Great that he can differentiate as his age!

I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read your post...otherwise there would be water or tea all over the screen after that last comment!

Enjoy your friends this week. That's a very good thing.

"it was a practice, not a learn". love that :)

i know what you mean, being a lot alone with your own thoughts. not that i don't like it, but i can see that it tend to make me more quiet and introvert over time. so sometimes i need to push myself a bit too. to get out of my own comfort zone. and mind :)

how lovely to have alexi home for the week, even if it is mostly about practical chores. sometimes that is the best thing ever.
