Purple reminds me of my paternal Grandmother; I can't remember a time when she wore any other color. I found myself feeling surprised to see purple listed as one of the colors for spring color week. I don't associate it with spring; I associate it with her.
I hope you all had a nice Thursday...feels like Friday around here, as my boys don't have school tomorrow.
Purple was my favorite color as a young girl. EVERYTHING had to be purple. It still is a favorite today along with a list of others. Enjoy your long weekend. xo
Look at that flowering rosemary! I've never found any purple sea glass on our beaches. Purple was one of my boys favorite color when he was little. His birthday cake had to be purple for many years, I miss a little the purple birthday cakes now.
Funny, my paternal grandmother bought me the most amazing purple fishnet-like tights when I was a girl of 5. I still remember that. Lucious photographs.
My neighbor Joan, of Champagne Thursday fame, is the Queen of purple. She is returning home from her winter away in California on March 16. Although I must say she is not going to escape the grasp of winter as it is plenty cold here with lots of snow still on the ground.
You know I love your purple starfish!!! xoxo and Happy Weekend
My MIL introduced me to purple. Before her, for some odd reason, I never really noticed purple. And then, shortly after I met my MIL, The Color Purple came on the scene. Now the color has a richness to me that goes way beyond the hue. It is a reminder of much loveliness.
beautiful series. i think the rained-on hydrangeas are my favourite.
i can picture your grandmother and soft purple sweater. my paternal grandmother had a little donkey sitting on her windowsill whose mane and tail turned purple when the weather changed. endlessly intriguing to me.
I have found myself oddly attracted to purple lately - but only when paired with beautiful greens. It's a color that I've not every really been fond of, so I'm not sure why it suddenly keeps following me home!

Those starfish are amazing. Beautiful and strange, like most good things.
I thought the same thing when I saw it in color week--your photos are so beautiful. Most often I associate colors with people as well.
i went through an all-purple all-the-time phase when i was 12. my friend's mother-in-law only wears purple. it must be that kind of a color.

Work From Home
I especially like those last two shots. Where did you see the starfish? I love their pentameral symmetry.
