If you aren't already a reader of hers, be sure to check out Becky's blog. She was my first blogging friend. She's the funniest writer in the blogosphere, and she's facing and documenting a significant hardship with humor, courage and grace.
I keep thinking about Jenna's words about turning forty and what it is and is not.
(Oh and email readers, here's the link for yesterday's garden post. I inadvertently left it out when I initially published it, and fixed it later on the site.)
Happy Wednesday!

my best friend Lou does the exact same thing! everything has to be clean and organized before leaving...i think it is a wonderful obsession....coming home to clean sheets and a clean house! (i am not that type, unfortunately...:)
checked out Becky's blog...she's hilarious...and a beautiful young matron!
have a wonderful trip!!!
xoxo
Have a wonderful trip! I'm the same way like things neat and tidy before leaving. Safe travels!
The anticipation of a trip always stresses me--but the trip itself is always worth it! Enjoy!
I do the same, I leave the house clean for nobody to enjoy, but then I'm always glad I did when I return! Enjoy your trip!
You are much better with the housework than I! I normally leave for weekends with my parents (just about the only trip I ever take) in such a rush that the house looks like a tornado hit it. You would think that after about a million returns, with the sigh that comes from facing the mess, would have cured me by now.
Have a good trip!
Ha, I am enjoying the comments about who leaves the house organized before a trip... I am with Kim (KKS)-- I say the same mess will wait for me when I get home. But the kitchen is always clean no matter what!!! I am an obsessive vacuumer though, with 4 non-shedding dogs that bring in bits of grass with every trip outside.....
Hope your dental ouchies feel better today. xoxo
Checked out your garden post! Wonderful!!! Have a great trip and now I am off to visit Becky. xoxox
Those chairs are stunning!
Traveling is filled with so much excitement, but I always find a ridiculous amount of stress as well.
I always strip our beds, vacuum the floors and clean the bathrooms before we travel anywhere. In fact, come to think of it, I think that my house is cleaner when I plan to not be in it, then when we are here full time. Weird
I hope that you have a wonderful journey.
Lecia, thank you so much for your kind words today. I appreciate it so much. It's your blog that I find more inspiring and refreshing than ever before, these days.
Don't stress too much about your to-do list--enjoy your time away!
I always leave my house clean when I travel, too. I never like to come home... so knowing it's clean just makes it a little better. Have a wonderful time!
I hope you have a nice trip! xo
Lecia,
Our internet has been down since early Tuesday morning, so I am catching up here. I am the same way planning for a trip and am in the same place right now. I leave with the kids, airplane and all, Tue morning and I am a bit nervous about that!
Hoping your trip is lovely and you come home to that clean house with clean sheets. LOVE that feeling!
Nicola
Hope you had a wonderful little trip! BTW, I'm just like you - must clean the house and have it organized before I leave. The thought of coming home to a mess after a vacation greatly distresses me! heehee.
