the hereafter

Yesterday we received the sad news that a girl from our school - who had been battling cancer - died late in the day on Memorial Day, with her family around her at a place she loved. She and her family are in our hearts. We've been thinking and talking about angels and the hereafter.

Hold your loved ones tight.

Celebrate the life you have.

What sad news. It never seems right when it is a child battling and losing to illness.

Oh my. I'm so sorry to hear such sad news. I know there is a heaven, though, and I truly believe there is a special place there for the little ones.

I stumbled here by chance and had planned only to say hello and then move on. I was touched by this post and moved on to read your earlier pieces. I really like what you do here and will be back as often as I can. I hope you are having a wonderful day. Blessings...Mary

The death of children is one of the issues that tests my faith. In my finite mind it is just devastation without any recognizable purpose. So sorry for these parents and family of the sweet child. I hope they have a very strong faith. Don't know how else one could get through it.

so sorry about your news...i always love your photos but today's favorite is the blue shed, barn??? love that!!!!as an RN i see death all too often...babies to the 100 year old...the ONLY thing that gets me through seeing a child die is my FAITH!!!! those little angels are here to serve a purpose for a very short period of time and then sent back to god as our angels above...i will keep the family in my prayers...hugs...

btw another SIMPLE carrot salad that my host danish mom would make was just combine carrots and apples shredded in the food processor...so simple but sooo yummy...kids love it...in denmark fruits and veggies in the winter are slim so that is what they ate every night as their side salad...and we all loved it...

I am so sorry. Anyone still in school is too young. My dear friend's daughter is 6 and has been battling cancer for 2 years now. Every single time I feel "woe is me," I think of her and am humbled by my fortune thus far.
Hugs,
Nicola
