Instead of baking and making lists and cooking and cleaning and organizing, I spent the day outside - almost every last daylight minute of it. At times I was cold and preoccupied and bored and worried. But snow in November in Seattle - you just can't turn your back on it. I decided that tomorrow will take care of itself, and so will the day after that, and I sat back and watched and listened to the planning and construction and enjoyment of an elaborate sledding jump, and did my best to avoid snowballs.

Just what I needed, it's been over 30 (degrees centigrade) here in Melbourne for the last 3 days and I am so over the heat!
What you did with family was so much more important than to be inside cleaning and organizing. Your sons will remember you being outside with them more than they will remember you organizing things. Happy Thanksgiving!
you spent the day just perfectly, i think. and the memory of the snow will be all wrapped up in your memories of thanksgiving this year. lovely post, lecia!
The picture of the snow covered shoes on the deck reminded me of my deck when we are not careful to bring the shoes inside and we get a surprise snowfall! So funny! Whenever I bring my yard shoes inside for winter it is always a sad moment....
And yes, all those "to dos" will still be there, your snow looks so pretty! Enjoy being in the moment.
Oh God! It's so difficult to imagine all this snow around! Here in Greece we're still in Tshirts and a light sweater. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving next to your loved ones.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hello.
De-lurking to let you know how lovely I think your blog is. And those snowball-fight photo's are amazing.
:)
Love that shot of the single leaf in the snow. Another quiet triumph of the lens. Hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday.
I agree tomorrow will take care of itself. Can't pass up on a snowball fight!
