miscellany

For the past day or so, we've been watching four eagles soaring high, high and then, occasionally, diving down. Something must be really excellent about the fishing right now.

As much as I hate to mention holidays out of order, I'm starting to plan for our advent calendar. I wrote a post a couple of years ago about the topic; if you're interested, here's that link. Along the same lines, these advent action cards are fantastic.

Love The Dinner Diaries.

Jan has a great roundup of ornaments.

I mentioned a problem with constantly disappearing scissors; my sister (who has children older than mine) recommended I lock them up, to avoid things like haircuts. Oy! We have managed to avoid that one so far.

Do you wear socks? I never ever do, except when I exercise. I have one pair of smartwool socks I love, that I try to remember to wear to the boys' hockey games; they recently got a hole in them.

I hope your week has been a good one.

Love,
Lecia

I have the same problem with disappearing scissors so make sure they always go in my kitchen cupboards which are mostly transparent. I'm already excited about Christmas and just finished all my shopping. It sounds a bit like obessive organisation but I honestly can't face fighting my way through the crowds in December. Making an advent calendar is a lovely idea; I should try that.

I wear socks but only for sports and in the house at night when I've changed into my pyjamas and have cold feet. In the daytime, I stick to tights. Have a lovely weekend Lecia!

That sure was a miscellaneous post :D

I have the only pair of scissors in my house that aren't used in the kitchen.. I hide them in a pencil case, and I move it around my room so no one can take them ;o)

I am wearing two pairs of socks right now. I wear a pair for work, and a pair for when I walk the dog and go out on my scooter, because otherwise my feet get so cold.

I love the shot of the boys and their grandfather. It looks like it might have been a real discovery/learning situation. How very precious to have captured that.

Not only do the scissors go missing but the homework pencil jar is always empty despite me filling it up weekly. I don't get it.

I wear socks in the winter. And tights. Bare legs and feet in the summer.

Your photos are remarkable.

You wear winter shoes and boots with no socks on? I wear all layers I can in winter, and often have to wear socks in bed too!

Re: scissors, I have lots of 'em around the house, but this year for Christmas I'm gonna buy a kitchen shears for the hubby because he's always grabbing whatever he can find for cutting open packages and cutting into pizza. (!!) The other day I found him using my very special "sewing only!" scissors for something in the kitchen and I about drew up divorce papers. Kidding, of course!

I have kitchen scissors for cutting flower stems or other things and a couple pairs of regular scissors - the ones with the bright orange handles. And I'm always losing them, too.

Gorgeous pictures. Truly lovely.

Are those Cornish pasties in the picture? They look like they're about to go in the oven. I'm originally from Michigan and have family in the UP where pasties are a big tradition. I'm sure I haven't had one in over 20 years.

Fabulous pictures!

I love my socks - but then all I wear anymore are my handknit socks and my running socks. Soooo comfy!

Thank you, friends!

Francesca: My boots have fleece lining! And, it's rare to need those boots :) My climate is far milder than yours... xo Lecia
