from Saturday

I have a new favorite salad recipe that involves carmelizing red onions, farro, and roasting grapes, among other things. I'll tell you more about it next week. It was really delicious.

Today was the wettest, grayest day on record in Seattle, I'm sure. It must have been. We got our Christmas tree anyway, and it stands drying off in our living room, looking hopeful. Tomorrow we'll unpack the ornaments and lights.

A friend I used to work with gave me this necklace years ago. It's not really my style to wear a 'seasonal' necklace, but I love taking this out of my jewelry box every December and thinking of Cindy and that time in my life.

We are totally set for tomorrow, as we have some of the world's best marshmallows to put in the cocoa we'll undoubtedly drink, and cookies to go with it.

Enjoy your weekend. xoxo Lecia

It was wet here too, although not like in Seattle but I'm glad you got your Christmas tree and I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of it decorated. I love the necklace against the pretty green and like the idea of having seasonal things to wear as well. But it's those marshmellows you mention that caught my attention the most. Enjoy the cocoa!

That salad does sound amazing!
I am very glad we got our tree last Saturday, we got 16" of snow yesterday! If we had waited, we might have had to wait further until the middle of the week!
Those cookies and marshmallows look divine.

You've intrigued me with your salad idea... can't wait to hear more! We picked our tree last weekend and had so much fun decorating. I'm sure you guys will have a blast, especially with your delicious drinks! I've never tried specialty marshmallows... might have to give that a whirl sometime.

I've never roasted grapes and love the idea. Your sweet treats look so good. What excellent flavor pairings. Enjoy.

The light in your photos amazes me.

Enjoy your tree decorating. It is raining here too. Lots of rain.

Can red onions possibly look any more come-hither?

Happy tree-trimming, rain and all!

That's the thing about seasonal jewellery, finding the right piece, but a piece that is a gift, even if you wouldn't usually wear it, are always wonderful to dig out

I've always wanted to try making my own marshmellows. Too bad it's a big no no this year!c
