so far this week

Every morning this week as I've made breakfast, I've observed a bird or two hopping around the lawn. I don't recall noticing them there, at that time of day, any other time in recent memory. Perhaps as the days get shorter, the early bird gets to sleep in a bit.

I'm in the throes of mailing holiday cards and boxes. For the first time, with great sadness, I addressed a package to my grandmother alone. The package, to my eye, appeared improperly addressed every time I glanced at it in line at the post office.

In other news, Cal lost yet another tooth after school, for a total of three teeth in three days. I'm sure it must be a record.

How about you? What's going on in your world?

Three teeth in a row! The tooth fairy must be busy around your house!

How sad about the package. It's strange how things change and the new situations simply seem wrong, like when I feed the cats at my family home in England and put out the wrong number of bowls now that we are minus one. I remember putting those teeth under my pillow for the tooth fairy and looking forward to the money.

Nice to see some sunshine sparkling on the water.

My week has been pretty quiet so far but I'm going out tomorrow to photograph the lights, am meeting friends at a Christmas market on Friday and am having dinner with a visitor from France on Saturday (barring black ice).

Wow, he sure is dropping teethe! My world? It's all about gearing up for my trip home to the U.S. next week. And Christmas on the brain 24/7. I like it!

Beautiful pictures. My world is full of darkness and work, but we do our best to light it up with things not-work-related :)

It's sad when you hear someone say that has gone Christmas shopping with her mom, and you know that it will never happen again for you...
...I'm working like crazy, building one gingerbread house after another...the weather in Athens is still pleasant, but as of Sunday it will drop to 0*C. Would you believe that we're all looking forward to that! Christmas has to look and feel like Christmas!

What a busy tooth fairy!

Many hugs to you. I can only imagine how that package made you feel. I've been reflecting a lot, though, lately on the gift of grief. As much as it hurts, aren't we truly blessed people to have known and felt such love in our lives?!

Wow, Cal!
And I am sorry, again. The holidays are a time of feeling most, those we have lost.
