Happy New Year!

(pictures are from our recent trip to Whistler)

When I asked my boys if they had any wishes or resolutions for 2011, Abbott expressed the hope that he and Cal wouldn't fight. Cal would like to plant a garden, and hopes to eat as many shrimp as possible. For myself, I have several resolutions.

1. To venture outside my comfort zone more often, to take more risks.
2. To work harder at giving others the benefit of the doubt.
3. Read 52 books in 52 weeks. Several friends did this last year, and I found the idea inspiring. I like the idea of having a new project, now that my '365' photo project is complete.

Best wishes to you for a happy, healthy, fulfilling 2011 full of love.

Happy New Year Lecia! I love all your resolutions and especially like the idea of the book a week. Your snow pictures are really inspiring. I'm glad to be without it for a while in the UK as there's plenty waiting for me in Berlin.

happy & healthy 2011 to you & your family Lecia ! from the lobby computer at the hotel in Oslo !
Funny that you say that about the benefit of doubt because I`m making the opposite resolution for this year, being too kind & tolerant is a problem I`ve been having for too long... on the other hand I vow to be even closer to the ones who are nice & sincere to me.
I love this hug & kiss snow portrait of you & the boy !!!

Happy New Year, Lecia!
I think I should read more too, I couldn't think of too many books that I read in 2010 that weren't children's lit.
Not that there's anything wrong with Little House on the Prairie. :)

Also, I love the way you captured the falling snow.
So beautiful.

Try "The Cookbook Collector" for one of your books.

Happy New Year, Lecia! 52 books seems a lot of books, but I just finished reading "goat song" by BKessler, and I wish I had 51 more books similar to that to read!

I like that you simply chose three solid resolutions. It seems a manageable number. I've been thinking of such things today. Still in process... Happy New Year.

Happy new year, Lecia. You've selected some challenging goals. Honestly, I'll miss your 365 photo project, but I'm a longtime reader who knows that you can't deny your photographic urge.

I may have to add the 52 books thing to my new years resolutions... 52 is a recurring theme this year... I am also doing project 365, but only one photo a week. Less intimidating, I feel. Maybe 2012 will be the year for 365.

Nice resolutions for 2011 ...
I do not know if you've heard of Sister Emmanuelle there but she liked saying "Life is a risk ...
If you do not risk, you have not lived ...
This gives ... a taste of champagne ... " !! As i am in your blog let me wish you in French "Bonne Année à tous" ... Congratulations for your blog ... Stéphany xxxxxxxx

I have a venture out of my own comfort zone type of resolution as well. Now that I've finally figured out what's wrong with me, it's time to start really living life.

Love the book idea, and I can't wait to see what you will be reading!
