at this point in October

I felt out of sorts much of the day. I think, mostly, I wasn't prepared for the return of the rain, for the wintry light. We've had a spectacular October up to this point. At the end of the day, as I was putting dinner on the table, the clouds lifted, just at the edge of the horizon. Just enough to see the glow of the last of the light as we ate dinner. Just enough.

PS - Still at habit, through the end of the month.

The greys of october can feel like a heavy blanket now and then, don't they? Have a lovely end of the week.

I've felt the winter shift this week over in Vermont too, sort of how in August there was a slight change in the air that said fall was coming, only now its saying winter.

I'm not prepared for winter at all, too! It's the first year I have this feeling of not letting go of summer...It must mean something...

I'm not at all ready for these darker, cooler days. This year I was thoroughly enjoying summer and suddenly it was autumn....and now autumn is coming to a close!

how serendipitious! I love ending the day with the promise of sun the day after.

I had a tough day yesterday too, it's suddenly gotten cold here and T still doesn't understand, he wears shorts and shivers but refuses to put on pants. sounds silly to complain about but it made the day frustrating and long. especially since we spent a lot of time outside. hope you have a good friday and weekend!!

We have had some really lovely days in this October. I am grateful. I live across the water from you, I understand about the rain, but I try to accept it as part of all this beauty we live in. Last week I looked up to see the pinkest, most beautiful sunset ever. I went outside just to take it all in. Have a wonderful weekend.

How nice for the day to end with a glow, just for you. I really like your 10/20 contribution to habit.
