We have recurring notes in our (online) family calendar, thanks to Alexi, that mark significant events to remember. Today in our family history, six years ago, Cal took his first steps. Up to that day, he got around really well by climbing, scooting and being carried, like a typical second born, such that I vaguely wondered if he would ever walk. Somehow, most things in life end up working out just fine, with or without the worrying that accompanies them.

Flu vaccines and haircuts were on the agenda for the boys after school today. School pictures are tomorrow. I’ll probably regret the timing, though the haircuts look fine to me. I think the nature of school pictures is that they tend toward the comedic no matter what.

That’s all for tonight. Happy Thursday to you.

Thanks for sharing these moments. I remember those school pictures well and you definitely can't take them too seriously - new haircuts tend to look a little strange anyway for the first few days. I love those flowers in the first photo.

HA! that is so true about school pictures. i feel like i take pretty good pictures of my children, so when my oldest started kindergarten last year i considered not even buying any school pics. but the more i thought about it, i decided that school pictures are such an iconic part of american childhood, we HAD to buy them.

anyway, what a great shot of seattle that last photo is.

have a great weekend!

Gillian's school pictures were horrible this year....but them again she had pneumonia when they were taken. Sigh.

I've been doing something similar to your online calendar, only it's (almost) daily notes, and not always significant in the present, though they may seem so in the future. As month dividers, I'm using your card calendar :)
