Tuesday

The sun shone all day.

I put out a bowl of walnuts, on the coffee table, with the cracker; in the act, I felt as if I was commencing the holidays.

We're coming home from hockey practice, now, in the dark. I like seeing the lights in the windows of neighbors’ houses; the surprising numbers of people out walking their dog or just walking, despite the dark. And I especially like listening to the sound of the surf as I get out of the car and fumble to unlock the door. I take my time coming in. I don’t think it’s louder at night; it's just that I can hear it more without visual distractions.

My throat's sore, but I'm going to pretend I don't notice and see what happens.

Happy Tuesday. xo

Beautiful autumn flowers and lovely light.

I had to laugh at your sore throat comment - believe it or not, I've talked myself out of colds before, it can be done!

I love the sound of the surf at night, how wonderful to hear it outside your home. Have a beautiful day!

I do that "pretend I don't notice" bit often. It actually works, most of the time. Take care, Denise

Now all the flowers shops in your area are going to fight, so you come & have a photo shooting of their place !

For your throat: cut a 2 inch piece of ginger up and boil it in 4 cups of water for 20 minutes. Strain. Add sugar to taste and drink a cup while it's warm. (Save the rest in the fridge for later.) When living in China I was given this remedy to ward off a sore throat. It's worked for me...and it tastes great.
