Today is the 361st day of the year. I've been keenly aware of the tally all year long. For the second year in a row, I've taken a picture every single day, and watched the number in my album grow. At times it's made me feel insane, trying to come up with something to shoot, something that doesn't embarrass me to post. There has been many a day when I've forgotten until the end of the day, and I've had to scramble to come up with something. Countless times I've thought to myself, what can I possibly take a picture of, again, that I haven't, already, so many times before? But you know what? I may do it yet again in 2012 (don't quote me on it). The discipline has made me grow as a photographer and an observer.

Lecia, I enjoy looking at your photos. Your pictures convey such a calm, contemplative, peaceful feel. From a viewer's perspective you have grown as a story teller as well. You take the mundane (vegetable on the counter) and turn it into a photo where it is a star.
I can understand how much pressure there is to post and photograh though EVERY DAY! Maybe you change it up a bit.
Any way you decide I will be viewing it.
Thank you. Karen L
I've been reading your blog for a few months now...I believe I came across it from habit. I absolutely love your photographs and the words you write. You are one of the bloggers who actually inspired me to begin my own blog. I've always thought blogging had to be long thought out posts on topics each day. Instead I've started to (try!) to take a picture a day and write a few sentences about what we did throughout the day. I can't wait to look through you flickr album and see your photos all in one place!
I, also, hope you do another 365 in 2012. I so enjoy your photos and your words.

All you do is treat every time
I love seeing your photo/posts. And, yes, you've grown as a photographer and observer. Play it again, Sam.
I love keeping up with your thoughts and beautiful photos day after day.
I tried 365 this year, but pooped out in my first trimester of this pregnancy. I have high hopes for 2012, though...
Those are good reasons to attempt the a picture a day project - I've always been interested in it, I might just do it this year!
I honestly look forward to seeing your photographs and reading about your family on a daily basis. You may not know this, however, you are creating poetry that one day your sons will be thrilled with, and love.
Happy New Year Lecia!
I'm a crafter beginner, a photographer pre-beginner and still wondering if i will ever be a blogger beginner. I can only say i love seeing your photos and the thing I like most about them is the non pretentious way you capture any 'ordinary' daily moment and make it look unique and special. I look forward to your 2012 day project ... i won't be a follower beginner :)
Love this photo of you! ...And, I understand and relate to a lot of what you say in this post! I started reading and viewing your blog about a year ago and have really enjoyed it. I'm sure you will make a wise and good choice about what to do with your talent, blog and photos in 2012 and look forward to it :) Margaret
Lecia-Your blog is one that I check in on every day. I absolutely love your pictures and I thank you for allowing me a peek at life on the west coast. You have a gift for photography. I love the water scenes...here in the east coast I enjoy fishing and looking for seaglass. Thanks again for sharing..

Oh please do, you're the first blog I check in the morning. When I took a photography class, yours were the photos I took in and said I wanted my photos to look like. Was that an awkward sentence of what?
no doubt it is challenging !
you are beautiful
Well you do have a fantastic eye,and so if this is what helps you continue to grow and learn I think you should do it!
