from Friday night

This busy week - busy, in the best of ways, but still feeling like too much - is coming to a close. We'll spend the weekend replenishing our reserves of rest, mixed in with a movie here, a party there. I'll sit next to Alexi on the couch in the evening, after the boys are sleeping, and we'll catch up, plan, laugh, remember, and wish we could sleep right there, next to the Christmas tree.

And I will do my best to remember that what it's really about is the gifts of character.

Happy weekend.

have a restful happy weekend !
we're leaving to western europe for a few days this is how we're "escaping" the Christmas rush around us this year...
oh and by the way, why don't you make it happen and sleep next to the christmas ?! we received a day bed in a big box 2 weeks ago and L. said she would make a nest out of it and sleep by the tree on the Christmas night :)

It's so nice to read your blog, and witness lives being well lived. Kudos to your family for recognizing the important stuff of memories and time together. I'm sort of melancholy this season, we're up in the GPNW putting a Mother in assisted living. It's restful to tune in and see what you are up to. Thx for writing.
