My oh my....I'd almost give up my food restrictions for one of those gorgeous cupcakes! (And I'm so not a cupcake person...must be the wee gingerbread people.)

My favorite tradition for the holidays is that we always attend Christmas Eve services at our church and then go home and order a massive feast of Chinese food from one of our favorites. Last year we also drove out

Hillel is thrilled to hear that you had "the girls" eggs for lunch!

The first year we moved to Whidbey we could not find Hanukkah candles on the island and ended up using birthday candles instead. It was a huge drippy mess and they did not burn for the required thirty minutes.

Rather that purchasing candles off-island we created a new tradition of rolling our own

I love this time year as it allows to bring out old holiday traditions - along with our decorations! One tradtion my daughter & I have is painting a holiday piece at As You Wish. I love having uniterrupted time with her; the spent and the painted piece create long-lasting memories! Love this time of year!

I guess the one tradition we have that goes back to my own childhood is that we use candles on our tree. My parents bought the special candle holders many, many years ago in Switzerland, and gave some to each of us children. Happy Sunday, Lecia!

Not exactly a tradition but you made me think of my stocking which my grandma knitted for me when I was a child. Still have it, still use it, and remember Christmases past. I second everyone's comments about those gorgeous cupcakes... oh my!!

Each year we host a neighborhood holiday cookie party. More and more people attend each year. It is a blast! Not so much about the cookies as it is about everyone getting to see each other.

Those cupcakes are perfect! I just pulled my tree-shaped Porteirion plate out today, so Christmas can now happen.

And our neighbor has the most gorgeous Hanukkah light display outside her house. All blue and white, really grand.

thanks lecia! one of our holiday traditions is a hanukkah party that our friends host every year. they invite everyone they know and ask people to bring a menorah and/or a dish traditional to their culture, we always have a table full of lighted candles and food from all over the world. i'm going tonight--it's so fun!
