Here in the Northeast it's been sunny and warm--as soon as the work week started! All weekend it was cold, windy and rainy :(

I'm actually in the process of applying to grad school at the University of Washington--and everyone warns me of the Pacific Northwest weather! It's not really as bad as everyone says it is, is it??

this is so great, lecia. when you find the source, could you please send it along? my friend was just saying all summer how worthless cukes were. i didn't know their vitamin make up but hated to hear them talked badly about.

Growing up, I learned to make the most wonderful spread for tea sandwiches,
1 cucumber chopped
1 square of cream cheese
worcestershire sauce a splash
lemon, a squirt
salt, a dash
mix and serve on your choice of bread.
we would cut off the crusts....

oi! cucumber is the one veggie that my boys seem to have agreed they just won't touch (usually they like to divide what they don't eat between them to make it harder for me to cook ;). and it has been bugging me because it's such a great snack when it's as hot as it is here in the summer. with this info in mind i think i'll have to give it a go again. to see if i can somehow

I've always liked "cukes" and they have a high water content; very cold and refreshing. As a snack, I sometimes will dip them in lightly grained mustard - delicious.

The weather here is unseasonably warm for November. My neighbors still have some roses left on their rose bushes. Pink and yellow, fond memories of summer. :)
