My Mom was a children's librarian in an elementary school for years She loved when the little ones would come in. So sweet. :) And she said they always caught on to the library routine remarkably fast!

What an insightful description of why our little ones are so exhausted when they come home from preschool (or any new place of learning). They are learning EVERYTHING! These are such beautiful pictures, and words to remember when we're dealing (hopefully very gently) with their exhaustion.

yes, yes, yes. another mamma friend and i were just discussing the empathy we are summoning when the inevitable tantrums and fussies hit each afternoon/evening. it is clear SO MUCH is being learned, but so many changes. and so many funny little quirky issues arise. my little one is now adjusting, but the stress of the moment is not being able to take off her shoes at school. :)<br />i love the

This is a great reminder of how hard they work at being kids. I need to keep this perspective in mind, even with my 8 year-old.<br /><br />I somehow think of Cal as a lot older than Hank, but he&#39;s really not. Just one year! Pre-K is definitely what Kindergarten used to be for us.
